AP Calculus AB and BC · Live on Zoom
Online AP Calculus tutor
ROH Tutoring offers live AP Calculus AB and BC tutoring on Zoom, either in small groups of up to 3 students ($30 per 60-minute session) or 1:1 ($50 per session). Every student starts with a diagnostic, so sessions go straight to the units and skills that are costing them points.
- Former Mathnasium instructor
- Cancel anytime
- Weekday afternoons & Saturdays
Who it’s for
- Students who follow the examples in class but get stuck on free-response questions
- Students missing algebra or trig skills that now show up in every calculus problem
- Students preparing for a unit test, a final, or the AP exam in May
What sessions cover
Sessions follow the College Board course units, so tutoring lines up with what your student’s class is covering that week.
- Limits and continuity
- Differentiation: definition and fundamental properties
- Differentiation: composite, implicit, and inverse functions
- Contextual applications of differentiation, including related rates and motion
- Analytical applications of differentiation, including extrema, curve sketching, and optimization
- Integration and accumulation of change
- Differential equations, including slope fields and separation of variables
- Applications of integration, including area, volume, and average value
- Parametric equations, polar coordinates, and vector-valued functions (BC only)
- Infinite sequences and series (BC only)
Many calculus mistakes come from gaps in algebra or trigonometry. The diagnostic checks those skills too, so the tutor can fix the underlying problem.
Preparing for the AP exam
Students practice free-response questions and write out their reasoning the way AP graders expect, with justifications, units, and correct notation. We also work on when to use a calculator and how to pace each section.
In the weeks before the exam, students take timed practice sections and then go over where they lost points.
How it works
Three steps, and the first one is free.
1
Free 15-minute call
Tell us about grades, upcoming tests, and where math got hard. We’ll recommend a plan, or tell you honestly if you don’t need one.
2
Diagnostic session
Your tutor pinpoints the exact skills that are missing, so sessions don’t waste time reviewing what’s already solid.
3
Live 60-minute sessions
On Zoom with a shared whiteboard, targeted practice between sessions, and regular progress check-ins for parents.

Questions
Common questions
Should my student get help for AB or BC?
Tutoring follows whichever course they’re taking. BC covers all of AB plus two more units: parametric, polar, and vector-valued functions, and infinite sequences and series.
When should we start AP exam prep?
Ideally alongside the course from the fall, with focused exam practice starting around March. Starting later still helps, and the diagnostic shows where to spend the time you have.
Can you help with a unit test next week?
Yes. Tell us the test date and topics on the free call, and the first sessions will focus on that test.
Is group tutoring enough for AP Calculus?
For steady weekly support it often is. If a student is far behind or the exam is close, 1:1 sessions move faster.
